Forget Pajo's! A wonderful greasy spoon tucked away from the rest of touristy Steveston. I've been there the past two Thursdays for their fish and chips -- freshly fried in a light tempura batter and served steaming hot on a bed of crispy fries. It's a bit greasy, but if you're not into that, why are you ordering fish and chips?
Their cod and their salmon are both fresh and amazing. This husband-and-wife joint serve up hearty cheer, as does this adorable little daughter. Bring enough cash for a meal -- and the tip tin! -

I love this place and the real seaman's feel of a straight up no nonsense greasy spoon eater. The coffee was pretty good and they serve good portions for breakfast for a decent price . Just note it is cash only . Their Service was terrific too. I will be back for sure i just love the authentic feel of the place.

Y'know, it's been awhile since I've been here, but the reason why I'm writing this review so late, was that I'm actually rewriting it. I deleted it before but realized that all those lovely reviews, which I removed, I need to put them back. So as you may think this review is dated, It hasn't changed much. That's a good thing. Fisherman style cafes are hearty and hardy and as rough and tough they may seem at first, there's a real down to earth charm to them. Take in point the places I used to frequent when I fished up in Port Ed in a Gill-netter. The good ole Robyn M. She was a great vessel and in this drydock area that surrounds the Fisherman's Boot, she would be raised on wooden crates to have her hulls cleaned and repainted before the next fishing season.
So Yea, I have gotten my sea legs and my fair share of motion sickness making money off the Skeena (river).
This place, isn't one of those fancy places you drop in and lineup to get your breakfast followed by taking pics before gulping down your gullet your ham n eggs and followed by heaps of piping hot coffee while you snap chat the whole culinary experience to later share on Instagram. No, If you do this, you'll likely get the "fisherman's booty!" I say.
No, they won't do that, but ya might get looks towards you. And leave your mini poodle with the pink bow outside.
This place, even Youtubers like Mike Chen and Mark Wiens wouldn't dare venture into.
This is a real working mans (persons) diner. You come get yer coffee and your grub and you eat with a few jabs of "joisty" conversation and a bad joke or two.
I've known a few fishermen who've walked these planks to get their casual grub here now and then and have had the pleasure to join them (incognito) for some coffee.
Bring cash, it's accepted here.
Oh, and it's not really that Hipster. Sorry guys. -

For decades hidden in the Paramont shipyard is a good old fashioned home cooked meal. Cash only, come as you are and enjoy.
